2008 Work

This will be for all the "important" work I do this year. Important is in quotations, cuz I don't feel like sharing every little scrap and doodle here. I've grouped some pre-2008 art in here, but it was close enough, and I'd prefer it be here. Newly added art will always be on top, (so long as I remember I said that) so it will be easy to see any updates.

[UPDATE:] This page is static now. Hooray! :B

Quick sketch I did for my bro Lunar. I have a sickness that flares up when I talk to him. It makes me draw him art...

Dragon head II

Redrawn version, cuz the first one kinda sucked.Getting better at it, though.

Just a random knife

A winter together.

Winter gift to my clan.

Best signature ever.

LunarTheSnowLeopard Profile

X-Mas present for my bro.

StrayKismet Profile, Redrawn

Just like I promised. And looking much, much better, I might add.

[NOTE:] This piece was possibly stolen, in the NY area. Please contact me if found.

Tiger Profile (Color)

Yeah, I suck at coloring. You can hardly see the brown in the eyes. The nose looks good though, I guess.

Tiger Profile

Latest try at myself. Getting much better. This is the smirk I had meant for Stray.

I plan on coloring this one.

StrayKismet Profile

I starting liking the idea of profiles, so I did did for my bro, Stray. I'm gonna re-draw it though, since I now I know I can do better. His smirk looks less mischievous,a nd more guilty...

[NOTE:] This piece was possibly stolen, in the NY area. Please contact me if found.

The Lonely Dark ~ A Self Portrait

"To never know love's gentle touch, To forever wander alone within. Unfulfilled, distracted with death, He finds solace with his kin..."

First time drawing myself.

Ren Rabbit Profile

Ren commissioned me for an avatar. This is what I drew. I charged her a hug for it. ^-^

[I don't consider it an actual commission, that's why it's here instead. I love you hon! ^^;]

Dragon Head

Still need more practice with the dragons... *sigh*

Skyward Gaze

Second tiger head. Some noticable improvement, methinks.

Eye Detail

My fursona's eye markings. Nothing special, really.

First Tiger Head

My first try at drawing "myself". The success of this piece actually inspired, and bolstered my resolve for, further attempts.

Ren Rabbit ~ Stage Two

Now comes with clothes! :D I'm horrible with clothing, as you can see,but it still doesn't look that bad.

Ren Rabbit ~ Stage One

I drew this for a friend, cuz she was feeling down, and I wanted very much to cheer her up.  My first "official" furry art. After this one, I got more interested in working with anatomy.

Wallace-esque Sword

Just a random gift for someone on FA.

"Our Cliffside Sunrise"

Gift for a very close friend of a special moment we dream of having. The forest canopy kinda looks like clouds though...

Another Axe

I hadn't drawn an axe for a while, so I cranked this out. Kinda blah, if you ask me...

Carrot Dagger

An amusing idea I had. A friend of mine is a rabbit, and I was drawing something for her when this idea came to mind. I'm horrible, I know...

Generic Kukri v.2

Copied the blade from the first one, and drew a nice custom grip. It's amazing how badly my frist try went when you look at the better stuff....

Generic Kukri

I love these damn things. And now I can finally draw them! Not too bad, if I say so myself. Which I do.

Curved Dagger

Just an interesting idea I had. Finished up during my third furry breakfast. My favorite one so far. The symbol doesn't mean anything, it's just decorative.

Kukri Sketch

My first try at a Kukri. And I failed. Didn't have a reference. I still like the design, but I was going for a more accurate depiction. Oh well. Not bad for a first try, I guess.

The Dog Fish

It just looked like a "dog fish". I dunno why. This was the result of some bad art block. I like how it turned out.

Spear Head

Just a bit of practice, really....

Who are you?

This is meant to portray my feelings of lost, yet unknown love.  It's a bit difficult to explain......

Just an amusing idea I had. There's no doubt in my mind that the concept has already been used, but I felt like doing it just in case.

Badge Concept

This started as a random line on the paper, since I didn't really know what I wanted to draw at the time. I still have a lot of work to do on it, since I plan for it to be very busy-ish.

This "Tiger Saber" was drawn for my character/fursona (whatever). He is a tiger, and I wanted his (current) weapon to emulate that to some degree. I think I managed to accomplish that, to some extent.

I had originally planned for this to be a flaming sword, but I couldn't find a feasible manner in which to do so. I'll practice with that later, for now, I think this turned out okay.

This was intended to be a sketch to practice both color and shading, as I'm still working out my technique, but I got carried away. It's a half-cup hilt double edged saber. It's also my first time shading this way.

I wasn't really serious about this one. It was born of anger, and I'm not yet accustomed to drawing from emotion.

Also one of my first colored pieces. I'm still working out the technique, though, as the pencils completey covered the shading. I'll have to figure out a way around that. I'm sure it was my lack of enthusiasm that caused it, but I can never be sure.

My first partial, "Mountain Peace"*.

I decided to practice runes for this one, since having so much unused space didn't feel right. As an artist, I have an obligation (and desire) to be creative, and use every space I can to be expressive.

The rest is imagined to be a simple staff.

I still hate drawing breakers.

*(Translated from runes)

Decided to practice runes for a project. I think it could have been done better, but for a first try, I'm happy with it. "Practice makes perfect" and all that. Included my favorite pen for scale. I love that pen. It's pure awesome.

Elven Leaf Blade.

My first attempt at a symmetrical piece. The sketch looked great, but as I did more work on it, it lost it's appeal. I still like it, but that always bothers me. I decided to add a little flavor to it by adding a breaker on one side, and a finger grip from the guard on the other. The handle wasn't really thought through, as I was at a loss for ideas. I did some simple vine-like lines in the center of the blade, because I didn't want it to be plain, like I tend to do.

For the record, I hate drawing breakers.

Scythe

I'm obsessed with them. This one didn't turn out very well for the grip, but I'm not inclined to change it. First piece after really "getting into" my art.

Sub-Hilt Fighting Knife

Inspired by a Cold Steel knife. At least the hilt was. Grip is supposed to be wood inserts on rubber-ish material. Brass or steel furniture. This is the only piece I haven't shaded yet. I'm not sure why.

Short Sword

This was inspired by a Magic: the Gathering© card, and by watching 300©

No, it's not that close to either, but it was only an inspiration. I'll probably try to get closer later.

This was my first try at using an easel. It turned out pretty well, so now I try to keep all of my serious art sessions at it. I like having the space to work, and not worrying about lines, like I used to.
